This latter site is an attempt to make people aware of just how incredibly cruel our farming of animals has become in the past few years, just to make a few people very rich. We help sanctuaries by raising money from the sale of collectible postage stamps. ( I used to make concrete birdbaths and statues for this purpose, but as I have aged, find postage stamps a lot easier to handle!
I started off this by buying all the stamps myself and selling them to raise fund. But, I am hoping others will help by donating unwanted stamp collections they may have inherited, or collections they started as a child but no longer have an interest in. A tax receipt can be provided in Canada, and hopefully soon in the USA. We break down and sell the collections, with all profits going to stray animals. Expenses are minimal (approx. 10% for site fees, paypal fees, etc.) No salaries or rents are paid.........we work out of my home. The stamp sales have been a huge success to date, and we raised enough in the first year to help Cats Anonymous spay/neuter/vaccinate 50 feral cats, and helped Animal Alliance rescue 50 dogs from pound seizure ( pets taken from the pound for use in animal lab testings) We are now expanding our efforts and hope to do a LOT more in 2008!!Thanks for reading this.If you have stamps or coins to donate, please contact barry@strays.ca
